Data Analyst - Transportation (TPS4)

If you previously applied for this position you do not need to re-apply.** The Opportunity: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Multimodal Planning Division's (MMPD) Transportation Data, GIS and Modeling Office (TDGMO) located in Tumwater, WA., is seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist 4(TPS 4) to join their team as a Transportation Statistical Travel Data Analyst. As a project lead, you will use your expert knowledge of research methodologies, statistical methods, and best practices within the traffic monitoring field to produce traffic statistics for policy, planning, research, safety and roadway design. The position is also responsible for maintaining several critical databases, as well as meeting the data reporting needs of customers through the use of business intelligence software and application development (in collaboration with information technology staff). This position will perform the following work: •Maintain and refine the statistical and procedural framework used to generate traffic statistics from base data. •Develop and implement data quality assurance procedures. •Extract and manipulate data to meet customers needs. •Supervise, motivate, train and mentor staff. •Effectively communicate technical and non-technical information with a diverse range of audiences.
