Project Manager - Connecting Washington
Here at WSDOT, we are looking for individuals who share our passion for growth and development. We are in search of experienced roadway design engineers who have an exceptional aptitude for managing projects. The Northwest Region Project Engineering Office, located in Shoreline, is looking for a project manager who will be responsible for managing and delivering large transportation improvement projects. This position will not be directly supervising staff, but will manage and work collaboratively with consultants and contractors to ensure design project deliverables are met. This position will initially report to the project design office in Shoreline for the first part of the project's development and follow the project out to a construction field office after the project has been advertised and awarded. As part of our team, you will need to have the ability to present projects that will have an impact on the infrastructure at WSDOT, and support the well-being of individuals traveling throughout Washington State.


In addition to the information provided above, this position will perform the following work:
•Maintain project development documentation necessary for successful delivery of assigned projects.
•Review design submittals developed by consultant and contractor teams.
•Write and administer consultant agreements.
•Provide consultants and support staff guidance regarding WSDOT standards and processes.
•Review and recommend engineering solutions.
•Review project management plans developed by consultant or contractor teams.
•Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned projects.
•Identify and track project risks.
•Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will have the following:
•Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
•3 years' experience as a Transportation Engineer 2, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
•Proficient knowledge of project management practices.
•Excellent communications skills; both written and verbal.
•Three years of increasing responsibilities in performing roadway design work.
•Valid driver's license.
•Strong working knowledge of LEAN concepts.
