This recruitment will be used to fill one position in Bend and one position in Klamath Falls.

The District Manager is responsible for management of the maintenance and basic operational activities associated with maintaining the state highways, bridges and related facilities within the district. This includes management of personnel, hiring, evaluating and training employees.
In this role, you will work closely with outside agencies and entities to assure accomplishment of the ODOT mission.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following:
  1. Development of program rules and policies.
  2. Development of long- and short-range goals and plans.
  3. Program evaluation AND
  4. Budget preparation.
 
OR
  • Three (3) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following:
  1. Development of program rules and policies.
  2. Development of long- and short-range goals and plans.
  3. Program evaluation AND
  4. Budget preparation AND 45-48 quarter hours (30-32 semester hours) of graduate level coursework in management.

Special Qualifications
 
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
 
Preferred Attributes

  • Effective management, leadership, communication, public speaking, and consensus building skills.
  • Proven human resource management skills, well developed negotiation/mediation abilities and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated competency of project management/leadership principles and techniques.
  • General working knowledge of construction and engineering design standards.
