The Opportunity: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge & Structural Office is looking for an experienced engineer to serves as the Bridge Projects Unit Manager - WMS3 in Tumwater, WA. The Bridge Projects Unit Managers primary function is to assist the Regions in developing scope, schedule, and budgets on transportation projects that have bridges and/or structures within the project limits.

This position is a focal point of communication during the Project Development and Construction phases of all transportation structure projects. In addition, the Bridge Projects Unit Manager provides constructability reviews, participates in Value Engineering Studies, and manages research projects relating to Homeland Security and Bridge design.

This position also manages and coordinates Bridge and Structures office efforts in Design-Build projects. The Washington State Legislature directs extensive use of the Design-Build contracting method for many bridge and structures projects. The 2015 Connecting Washington transportation package directs extensive use of the Design-Build contracting method for project delivery of moderate to significant context. The incumbent will frequently provide an additional level of project review, at the quality verification level.
