MPO Project Manager
MPO PROJECT MANAGER Responsible for performing duties and tasks for the Lake~Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) related to the development of transportation plans and programs with an emphasis on multi-modal planning. Manages the MPO’s Transportation Management System, which serves the local governments of the MPO. Supervises and manages transportation consultants under contract to the MPO. Provides development review services to member governments regarding traffic impact studies. Coordinates with member governments on transportation impact or concurrency issues and provides assistance on proportionate share agreements and policy. Manages and analyzes data including the collection of traffic counts data and roadway levels of service. Manages or assists in the development of MPO plans and programs, which may include the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and the List of Priority Projects (LOPP). Develops plans for surface transportation projects according to established transportation standards in accordance with State and Federal policy. Serves as MPO staff liaison to committees and task forces, including contributing to the preparation of committee agendas and minutes. Prepares and presents transportation information and reports to the public, MPO Board and committees. QUALIFICATIONS Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires Bachelors Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field with five (5) years related experience, of which two (2) must be in a supervisory capacity. Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
