The Opportunity: The Washington State Department of Transportation's (WSDOT) Headquarters' Survey and Mapping Office, located in Tumwater, WA is looking for a Geodetic Survey and Mapping Engineer. This office is a specialty statewide cost recovery center and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the geographic framework that provides the up to date statewide datum reference for WSDOT project delivery. They establish geodetic survey control, bathymetric, photogrammetric and Terrestrial Lidar (3DTL) as built mapping technology and structural monitoring for WSDOT project delivery.

This position will serve as a Geodetic Survey and Mapping Engineer processing terrestrial, static, aerial, mobile LiDAR and photogrammetric mapping using Microstation and Inroads for deliverables. This position also is responsible for collecting, downloading, processing, inspecting, and delivering electronic geodetic survey data for admission to the WSDOT Monument Database. The applicant should be proficient with computer applications and survey instruments. Some statewide travel will be required with overnight stays.
