Local Agency Liaison – Civil Engineering Specialist 3
Highway Division – Region 3

Roseburg, Oregon

Do you have civil engineering experience? Do you have experience administering state and federally funded transportation projects from inception through construction? Do you have demonstrated time management skills with the ability to handle multiple competing resonsibilities? If so, ODOT wants to hear from you!

ODOT is recruiting for a local agency liaison to provide complex and difficult project development and construction administration and engineering work from the beginning of development to the final construction sign off of local agency projects. This person oversees Local Agency projects in Region 3 and ensures that they are designed and constructed in accordance with State and Federal regulations.  This person:
  • works with local governments to establish project design priorities, project development alternatives, and project schedules;
  • develops and monitors Region 3 Personal Services Contracts and Agreements;
  • instructs and provides counsel to local government agencies in the consultant contracting process And;
  • provides information to local agencies and consultants on the project delivery process.  

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, surveying or transportation-related engineering and four years of civil or transportation-related engineering or surveying experience;


Seven years of civil or transportation-related engineering or surveying experience. Two years of this experience must have been independently planning and completing assignments in drafting, field or laboratory inspection, construction contract administration, surveying, materials testing, or traffic investigations;


An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. If not, you must be able to provide an acceptable alternative method of transportation. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
