The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF), is seeking a Technical Engineer I (Geotechnical)for the Southcoast Region Design and Engineering division located in Juneau, Alaska.
If you are an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking for an exciting job in a geologically complex region, this may be the job for you. Alaska is a land of unique habitats surrounded by temperate rainforests on steep-sided mountains, glaciers and deep fjords presenting numerous challenges to be overcome. Applicants must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
Under general supervision of the Regional Materials Engineer, the Geotechnical Engineer (Technical Engineer I) will provide professional geotechnical engineering expertise for the design & construction of highway retaining walls, bridges, marine facilities, highways, airports and other State of Alaska owned infrastructures. The geotechnical engineer will provide analysis, perform engineering computations, develop design drawings, write specifications and make recommendations for the design and construction of special geotechnical features incorporated into DOT&PF projects.
