This position (Transportation Engineer 2) will be centrally located in Phoenix and provide support to all functional areas of TSM&O Operational Traffic and Safety. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to help establish technical guidance; prioritize projects Statewide, and provide input on traffic engineering and operations functions. This position will coordinate extensively with our Regional Traffic Engineers across the State. This is a great opportunity for someone with a broad interest in traffic engineering, traffic operations, and traffic maintenance who wants to participate in decision-making and be part of the ownership of the system.

Areas of Involvement
·Review and/or develop traffic operations analysis (LOS) for freeways, highways, intersections.
·Recommend improvements for maintaining access control on major routes.
·Prioritize improvements based on traffic safety principals and crash data.
·Participate in road safety assessments (RSAs) and assist in recommending countermeasures.
·Develop concepts for signing and striping (MUTCD) changes.
·Assist other supervisors with budgeting, asset management, and performance measures.
·Analyze data and present results through technical writing and presentations.
·Lead project teams utilizing continuous improvement techniques (problem-solving, Kaizen, etc.) to accomplish prioritized initiatives.
·Oversee projects and project teams to accomplish specific outcomes.

Preferred Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering; Minimum of 5 years of experience within traffic engineering

Requirements for Position:
·Must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Arizona or eligible for reciprocity.
·Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a registered engineer with increasing responsibilities.
