The Opportunity: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently looking for a team member with a passion for building coalitions; reviewing and updating policy; integrating multimodal data; evaluating different modeling approaches and tools; advancing innovative planning and engineering practices; and delivering training to staff across the state to support implementation of Practical Solutions. These efforts will emphasize multimodal analysis tools, practices, and procedures toward integrated Practical Solutions. It will also identify the need for technical policy and training across the state. The Multimodal Modeling Integration Planner – TPS5 position is in WSDOT’s Public Transportation Division and will work out of either our Olympia or Seattle, WA offices. In this position, you will serve as an expert who brings multidisciplinary professionals together to: (1) assess existing tools, methods and policies; (2) recommend analysis methods and tools to evaluate the performance of integrated multimodal solutions; and (3) propose innovative ideas to overcome barriers.

Successful candidates will have experience establishing and facilitating diverse teams of internal and external experts to advance technology, policy, and practices toward WSDOT’s vision, mission, values and goals. Candidates will also be adept at planning and managing projects or programs with a significant amount of engagement efforts, as well as communicating the consent reached through engagement. The successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly, and has a demonstrated ability to prepare written briefing papers, technical reports and/or propose policy revisions. Our customers include local, state and federal agencies, community groups, service providers, advocacy groups, employers, and more.
