Transit Operations Manager
Salary: $83,588-$107,340 annually, plus excellent benefits.
The Position: Make a difference in this key position overseeing operations of Simi Valley Transit! The Transit Operations Manager will supervise all transit operations and activities, including: managing 3-4 direct reports and up to 40 full and part time indirect reports; enhancing transit services; implementing technology and service modifications; ensuring adherence to federal, state and local safety policies; coordinating the Transit budget; procurements; and preparing detailed reports and grant applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a large remote workforce, preferably in a union environment; experience procuring large ticket items; experience preparing detailed reports; experience with federal grants; and a track record of providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.
Simi Valley Transit provides public transportation services through its fixed-route bus service and Americans with Disabilities Act/Dial-A-Ride (ADA/DAR) services to disabled and senior populations. Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience managing and coordinating service-related operations, preferably for a transportation agency. Two years of supervisory/management experience is required, preferably in a union environment.
Possession of, or ability to obtain/maintain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license is also required.
