SALARY: $60,543.00 - $97,203.00 Annually OPENING DATE: 08/22/17 CLOSING DATE: 09/20/17 11:59 PM DESCRIPTION: Maryland State Highway Administration (OPEN) Construction and Utilities Coordination Team Leader (Transportation Design Engineer V) Grade 21 (7665) SP# 17-60-19 YOU MUST APPLY ONLINE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION http://agency.governmentjobs.com/mdotmd THE RECONSIDERATION PERIOD FOR THIS RECRUITMENT IS FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) Office of Highway Development- Innovative Contracting Division (Baltimore City) is recruiting for a Construction and Utilities Coordination Team Leader (Transportation Design Engineer V) position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualification* listed below. This is a position specific recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy, and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification in the Office of Highway Development- Innovative Contracting Division (Baltimore City). QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required. Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment. Experience: One (1) year of experience managing engineering projects as a licensed, professional engineer. Selective Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in the administration of multi-disciplined construction or design projects for transportation improvements. *A selective qualification recruitment is conducted for positions when there is a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualification (i.e., knowledge, skill, or ability). Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess: effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; possess excellent organizational skills; have the ability to interpret contract documents such as plans and specifications and apply policies and procedures; have experience in and the ability to review and develop engineering design related to maintenance of traffic, construction sequencing/staging, and utility impacts/relocations; develop and review construction schedules; have a working knowledge of engineering guidelines and standards; have experience and the ability to review construction change orders and claims and provide recommendations on resolution; and have experience in inspection of transportation projects. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license is required. Evidence must be presented at the time of appointment. 2. Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
