The Opportunity: The Opportunity: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is looking for an experienced surveying professional to serve as our HQ Geodetic Engineer – TE4 in Tumwater, WA. The HQ Geodetic Engineer serves as the Project Manager in HQ Survey and Mapping Office and is responsible for the management of the Primary Control Monument Program, Highway Monument Work Program, and cost recovery photogrammetric, hydrographic, and 3-D terrestrial LIDAR mapping by directing and coordinating projects. This is the geographic framework that provides the up to date statewide datum reference for WSDOT project delivery. This position directly supports the HQ Survey and Mapping Manager in the management of the HQ Survey and Mapping Unit for the Geo-Metrix office. This position contributes to the agency mission by providing specialized survey control and mapping products essential to the design and construction of department capital projects and monitoring needs.

*Note: This position includes an approved In-training plan, therefore it may be filled at the Transportation Engineer 3 or 4 level. The salary levels for each are: Transportation Engineer 3: $ 61,212 - $ 80,304 annually Transportation Engineer 4: $ 67,584 - $ 88,656 annually
